Grand keys too short?

I'd also look to see if the damper action is mounted too far BACK. If the
wires don't drop straight down from the guide rail, but instead head back to
the top flanges, or if the top flanges angle toward you, I'd shim the damper
tray mount blocks out, and re-bend the wires. You may not even have to do any
bending - just straighten the heads. It doesn't take all that long, assuming
it doesn't mess up the leverage on the pitman dowel or something else weird.
