"Sostenuto Shake-up"

Howdy Lizt!
      Got a little problem with a 1927 S&S "O"....X-Player.
Somebody removed the sostenuto rod along with all the player guts at some
point in the past. The rod is of a different design in two ways. First, it
seems to use a pitman rod instead of a monkey and secondly, the lift point is
at the bass end of the rod as opposed to the standard bass/tenor break
location.
Steinway and Apsco had no replacements available and I really don't want to
get into retro-fitting a "modren" settup.
      Anybody out there usin' one of these rods for a window prop?!@#$#@$#!!!
