list, o list Olde Steinway wippens have a piece of damper-looking felt in the jack slot instead of a big red felt punching on the jack, for a jack-rest. So there is this slapping noise when you release the key slightly after playing a note. Is there a quick, Downy Fabric Softener-type solution for this, or do you have to cut new felts and fit them (please, say I don't have to)? Ben Treuhaft Underwater Piano Shop Berkeley, Calif.
