Exactly my complaint.  I have one customer whose action is loose each time I
visit.  I am her third tuner and the records of previous techs also indicate
each tuning, out comes the action for hammer flange screw tightening.  It is
hard to tune when they drift into each other.

I also have noticed lots of quality control problems such as only a very
coarse regulation, seized balance rail holes, tight key bushings, damper
block hitting the plate as it rises and staying up, key fronts hitting key
slip and sticking when played, loose tuning pins, especially in the bass and
then the occasional and random very, loose pin.

I guess the value must be weighed against the production pace at which
they're made and in our area, these problems always squeak by the dealer prep
and into my customer's homes.
