Just one tech's opinion. Knabe produced some suberb instruments in the late 19th century, such as the redesigned and rescaled rosewood concert grand that Earnest sent to the piano exhibition in Philadelphia in 1876 as part of our Centennial celebration. THAT was a piano! But after Earnest's death and the subsequent incorporation of of Knabe as part of the APC and later the AC, the quality of the instruments declined so markedly that my question would be, "Why transport a 60-70 year-old Knabe upright ANYWHERE?"
