Teacher's piano problem

In regards to the sound as notes are being played in the bass.  It could be
the damper coming off the string that is making this sound. The solution
would be to soften the damper felt, or cut enough off the bottom of the felt
so that the wedge is not going down between the wires. If this is hapening in
the single string area, check for "roughness" on the felt.
