You're right, Bob, we may never know what was really said. However, as I
related the story, I was trying to be tactful(!). I know the technician
invloved and have never doubted the accuracy of the quote. Of course, what
he MIGHT have said was " not only can't those old strings be reused, but
we're going to have to restring the rest of the piano as well."! As someone
noted earlier, it IS a jungle out there.
