>Celeste is a hybrid instrument. For repairs to the casework, probably any
good wood worker. For repairs to the keyboard and hammer mechanism,
probably an adventurous piano technician. For reuning of the bars, a
percussion specialist.

I have repaired two different celestas during my tenure as a CAUT, one at PA
St Univ and one here at Oberlin. They are built in a "Rube Goldberg" sort of
way, the workings of which are easy to figure out if you are at all
mechanically curious. Neither job took very long, and both efforts got me some
brownie points with the administration because they did not have to send the
things out. They saved BUCKS, and administrators sure do like that.
