Hmm, looks like I may have been spreading wives tales! I thought a little milk on the cloth wiped over the carving was an old trick of the trade in China, that 3 different clients had told me their families had adapted to wiping down the piano keys once a year or so. The keyboards so-treated were a nice pale shade. I have repeated the tip to others. Does someone have a chemical-analytic grasp? Audrey Karabinus, Seattle
