Ron Shiflet, and List - When I install the hammers, the upper action is removed from the keyframe. To test the 'trials', the action must be on the keyframe, of course. And the extra-long new shanks get in the way of the backchecks. I simply bend the troublesome backchecks back a bit to get them out of the way - a quick and dirty temporary solution. Sometimes, if I'm testing the suitability of particular new-par combinations, I'll trim the length of the trial shanks instead, so I can regulate a complete note or two, using the same trial notes. - Tom McNeil, RPT - Vermont Piano restorations --------------------- Forwarded message: From: ron_and_lorene@juno.com (Ronald R Shiflet) To: McNeilTom@aol.com
