Hey Danny Dover, who asked if the Helms Act will put a damper on the
Send a Piana to Havana project -

Cuba has been illegal for about a monkey's age, and the Helms act is
just the latest attempt to get the monkey to stop laughing and pointing
at us. Any tuner found feloniously with his fork in Havana is subject
to the same $300,000 fine and 10-year sentence as before, so don't
worry. Now in practice, this law is kind of embarrassing to the U.S.
and they do not prosecute us. Also, you can probably get a State
Department license to travel there, seeing as how the pianos are sent
with a State-approved export license. But the way the other PTG tuners
traveled (and the way thousands of U.S. citizens do every year) was
through a third country without mentioning the Cuba leg of the trip to
customs back in the U.S. Cuba makes this easy by never stamping U.S.
passports unless you plead (like me). Once you get there, you see
right away that Helms et al are liars and that you have landed in a
minor wonder of the world instead of a Commie hell. Going?
