Moldy hide glue

Bill;
 Do you use one of those nifty glue pot covers?  The ones with the hole on
one side for your glue stick/brush ?  Well if you do, than that is probably
your problem.  I started having mold problems when I started using one of
those covers.  It seems that when I turn the pot off and leave the lid on
that I have a mold growing problem.  However if I remove the lid until the
pot is cold---cold and then put the lid back on I don't seem to have the
problem. Hope this helps or gives some ideas.
