State University of New York at Stony Brook Stony Brook, NY Joseph Vitti Concert Technician 25-Nov-1996 09:54am EST FROM: JVITTI TO: Remote Addressee ( _pianotech@byu.edu ) Subject: Spillage thread The subject of spillage into pianos has come up before. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a product that would prevent liquid damage to the piano action and keys? It would give techs an added service ($) and help protect piano owners from accidents of this nature not covered under a manufacturers warranty. Well there is! It is made by Protek and it works! It is a polymer product that works like a wood scotch guard. It allows the keys and action to breath but will repel liquids and won't harden the action parts so they won't make noise. Send me an E-mail message if you'd like to try it. Joe Vitti JVitti@ccmail.sunysb.edu
