Two items:

1)  I apologize for posting my question to the list.  I thought I had
e-mailed it
to an individual.

2)  Thanks to all who responded with well thought out answers; I learned a
lot.  I
would like to emphasize that I was asking a generic question rather than one
for my
personal situation.  The technician who services my piano already more than
gives me
my money's worth!
