Dear Lorlin, I did one of those once. Never Again! I would replace the rail with a new one, milled, routed, cut, shaved, and otherwise made to fit the old bracket with new flanges all around. If you know a good wood worker with the right equipment it can be made, or you can make it yourself if you have the tools. It may well be possible to cut the old rails to fit, thereby saving yourself the aggrivation of drilling new screw holes. Study the situation and look at your options. Some of those old Chickerings are wonderful sounding pianos, except their actions were not so wonderful. Newton nhunt@jagat.com
