Missing bass string

Hi Ted:

I carry a steel tape with the end hook removed. This allows slipping the
tape under the upt.Bass dampers for measuring the speaking length. You
also do not have to add half a bridge pin diameter when you butt the tape
against the bridge pin. The tape is also good for measuring treble
string lengths on grands because you can butt the this blade up under the
Capo Bar til it stops and then read length from the back side of the
bridge pin.

Now, why would you want to measure treble string lengths?
Only if you do computerized rescaling when rebuilding grands.
