Unbelievable

List,

Thought I'd give you a little chuckle for the weekend. I just finished
tuning a harpsichord to be used in a recital tonight and while I was in the
recital hall tuning, center stage, a lady and a little girl came in. They
weren't making any noise so I didn't say anything. In a couple of minutes
the little girl (maybe 7 or 8) comes up onto the stage, walks to the front
edge and bows. She started to leave but then turned around, came back and
bowed again. She left the stage and she and her mother left the hall. With
me tuning the entire time.
Then not 10 minutes later, a girl who looked about college age came into
the hall, asked me if I was tuning (duh). When I answered yes, she then
asked if it would bother me if she came in. I asked why and she said "to
warm up"!!! (double duh!!!) (We had scholarship auditions today.)
It was a toss-up whether to laugh or make some "smart" remark. I settled
for telling her, yes, it would probably bother me.
She left and I finished tuning in peace. People *are* funny.

Avery
