	Pat and all,

	If you experiment with plucking strings, you will be shocked to
find, as I was, that you can produce different pitches in the string by
plucking at different points. In the absence of measuring and testing,
which I am not equipped to do, I assume that plucking at different spots
on the string excites different partials which, of course, have slightly
different pitches.
