Schraffed bass strings

I have had occasions where it was necessary to put 4 full twists on
all the strings in the tenor section of pianos like the Steinway A
in order to get a good sound.  I would not however recommend this
for any double wrapped strings, for that would tend to loosen the
underwrap.
