Straight-strung vs. Over-strung

Why are all of the pianos being built today overstrung?

Because everyone is making overstrung pianos. One great advantage of
straight strung pianos is that they are far simpler and easier to
service. I think a well desugned and fabricated straight strung piano
can sound as good as an overstrung piano.

Just my (not)humble opinion. 8-{)
