I received a picture and an order form from Llyod Meyer today. He sells
a tuning lever - not really cheap ($235) wich seems to be very nice and
handmade (they can do it the way you like it, with different woods,
 size, e.t.c.)

I have a "hand" made tuning hammer from Renner. My closest colleague also has
one. We have two very different designs and both will swear by them. Mine,
of coarse is the better design. I had him make it in a pear shape, so you
have a two inch ball that tapers down to .75 inches. the ball can sit
comfortable in hand and at a grand I use at 3 o'clock with thumb resting down
at the ridge of the taper. (traditional method) I use it more like a wonder
wand on the uprights. I think I have the best of both worlds with this
hammer. The wood is Guatamalan Cocobolo. (i love saying that Guatamalan
Cocobolo....)

You will be proud to own such a work of art.
