Stupid Question

To Del and The List,

The model M was 5'6" from 1911-14, 5'6 3/4" from 1914-17, and has been
listed as 5'7" since 1917. The exact reason for this change has been lost
over time, but the scaling has always been the same and the plates are
interchangeable.

The O, B, and D all grew in 1914 as well. It is likely that a single design
change took place, possibly in the keybed, that would account for the
increased length in all the grand models.
