Actually, the combination of super glue and baking soda is a great repair on stripped screw holes. It forms a rock hard surface that can hold a screw quite tight. Just fill the hole with a bit of baking soda, add a few drops of CA, and away you go. We've never used the mixture on hammers, though. Plain CA does a fine job on loose hammers.
