Except that I've never heard of it being used on pianos, I'd almost think your piano might be veneered in cherry. Cherry tends to be much darker than mahagony. Raw cherry is brown with a tinge of pink which is why it is stained red. Happy New Year Susan. Newton nhunt@jagat.com
