One of these will be coming into my shop in two weeks (I hope to be done by
then :-) ). An old Bechstein, 'rebuilt' (HA)
new block (HA). Lead weight (big) crimped on the damper levers.

It seems that the back row of pins are experiencing the same cracking
effect that the old pins did in the 'old' block.
Peering thru the top veneere I can see dowels (not plugs- ie:pinblock) and
the 'tech' swears "_someone_else
was in here doing something to this."

It certainly wouldn't surprise most of us to suggest_drinking problem_.

Anyone who knows me, I have no problem getting the stuff. :-)

Aside from that, hic, this is a block which is let into the case, I am of
the mind to inlay a new piece of material and veveer
with birdseye maple.

Has anyone tried this?

Should I use 1/0 instead of 2/0?

Thanks,
