Bosendorfer problems

Charles,

I concur with all the good advise regarding the Bosendorfer problems. The
solutions mentioned by Newton and Lee have worked for me as well.

When Ithaca College first obtained its Imperial the piano suffered greatly
from the humidity fluctuations in the hall. (They have since solved the
humidity problem in the winter at least.) This is an older instrument so it
already had some cracks in the soundboard and on the veneer located on the
inside of the rim. This piano scared the heck out of a faculty member one
evening when it decided to give off several loud cracking and popping
noises. Since this piano is not moved a lot, I decided to install a
humidity control system. I purchased a removable frame for the system from
Webb Phillips so it can be taken off for a concert. The system worked very
well and stabilized the piano. In a post not long ago, Steve Cunningham
mentioned something about a roll under system he constructed. I have been
meaning to contact you on this Steve, so if you are still out there I would
like to know more.
