I prefer the strenght of 3/8" drive, also. I carry (on one of those snap-rails) a relevent set of sockets (1/2" - 7/8" in 1/16" increments, 7 in all) As far as slot bit, nothing beats Snap-on. All others break or bend easily. Well worth the money. I keep one as back-up. And cross bit (phillips), Craftsman is sufficient. 2 sizes. Also a short extension is useful.
