Since the plates are suspended, in the process of rebuilding; would you make several wooden height presses to maintain plate height when reinstalling the plate? Height presses would be a lengths of wood which would be trimmed flush with the top of the rim and then clamped to hold the plate down while threading bolts in. Also, would you use wedges under the plate if lift were needed? I have not rebuilt a newer Baldwin. I'm sure this info will be of help to many. Thanks, Jon Page Harwich Port, Cape Cod, Mass.
