Ted,

Leave the machine like it is and pay a reliable neighbor or college kid
to come in 2-3 times a week and call them back to set the appointment
for you (mine does). If she's setting appointments two weeks off, your
customers will do the sum in a hurry.  Sure, she'll fumble some of them,
but those probably wouldn't wait two weeks for you anyway!
