My first thought, sitting here tonight much later than I would like to be up, is that you would want to get the drop screws ***down*** enough to be out of the picture. If they are up too far, you won't get any let-off. Ask me how I know. OK, I'll tell you. I sat for what seemed an eternity on the grand regulation production line at a certain factory wondering why there was no let off. Seems that particular stack came in with the drop screws too far up Dave stays up late, too; I'm sure this is what he meant. This goes along with another "Joel Classic": trying to level keys without making sure the hammer shanks are up off the rest felts. Won't work! I don't see why Dave's method would not work. Personally, I use the solid feel of the drop screw hitting the end of the rep lever at the same time the jack tip (heel?) hits the let-off button. when doing the fine regulation. If they are not the same, I seem to sense a" ba-dum" type of contact and it doesn't feel solid to me. Joel Rappaport Round Rock, Texas
