The frustrated Pianist

My goodness, time flies.

The first time I saw the "review" of Mr Kropp's ill fated Bangkok
performance, I was actually in Thialand stationed on the coast of the
South China Sea. My fledgling career as a piano rebuilder had been
interupted by my Uncle Sam who wanted me to fix some equipment he had on
a bunch of airplanes he had unwisely sent over there.

I read this piece in an English language newspaper that was actually
published somewhere in Thialand, though I don't recall if it was the
Bangkok Post. I also don't recall that the piano was specifically named
as a Baldwin concert grand. Perhaps the piece has been modified over the
years by someone with an ax to grind.

I do recall that the heat and the humidity were unlike anything I had
ever encountered and that sophisticated electronics don't like the
humidity any better than pianos.

If those were supposed to be the "good old days" I'm certainly glad they
are over.
