In addition, the PowerBook 520 when upgraded to PowerPC runs RCT just fine. Basicly it runs on any Mac which has a microphone and is fast enough, even desktops. Two new models are due this fall, and PowerBooks clones are due later this year by four companies: Umax, Motorola, Power Computing and ... believe it or not ... maybe even IBM! I currently carry 5 different Apple PowerBooks (usually) in stock to run RCT, the 280, 2300c, 5300c, 1400c and sometimes the 3400c. See them at: www.reyburn.com/powerbook.html For those who have to have Windows, all PowerBooks can run SoftWidows, a Windows emulator. The Powerbook 3400c-240 runs SoftWindows 3.1 or '95 at about the same speed as a 100mhz pentium. Its 240 mhz PowerPC RISC CPU which is about the equivalent of a pentium running at 320mhz. BTW, Macintosh computers don't have a "reference chip for A440" per se but they do have digital recording capability which is much more accurate than PCs. Hope that clears up the confusion over this. Sorry I can't be on pianotech all the time, but there are just too many messages! -Dean
