Mehlin Grand

Dan,

If memory serves, most of the Mehlin grands used Wessell, Nickle & Gross
actions. 2-3/4 doesn't sound all that out of line for some of those, but I
think I'd tend to go with taking samples of what is there to see what is
working "properly". These actions have a slightly more "clunky" feel to
them than a pre-whenever S&S, more like the Masons with the shorter whips,
but do give good control and repetition once well set up.

Most of the Mehlins I have seen have incorporated some very interesting
design concepts, had good scales and were very well built. Should be fun.

Good luck!

Horace
