Hi list, I second the notion put forth by John Ross, that is, using old drum heads to replace vellum hinges. Over the years different materials were used for heads, from calf skin to todays synthetics. I get my supplys from a drummer friend who changes heads all the time. One head will last a really long time. It‘s a great way to recycle, besides being free. I have optained a variety of heads this way. Just as an aside, I have also used this stuff as splints for key repair. Ray Irving (Baltimore Chapter PTG)
