Coil tapping

Jon, Richard, et. al.May I suggest using a screwdriver shaped object (SSO)
fashioned from brass dowell rod for this?  Brass is softer than the wire the
string is made of and not as likely to cut the wire.  (I understand this is the
historical method of tapping coils.)  :-)
