I can't put my finger on where I heard or read an interview with a
person, (musta been a tech)  who said that when Q Bach as he was
known in his early days, was asked which temperament he prefered, he
replied "I don't care, they all sound pretty darn close to me" 
And that's how he became known as PDQ Bach.
