Fish glue

Fish glue can indeed be used as you suggested.  It works cold about the same
as hot hide glue.  However, it does not have the same tenacious hold that hide
glue has, particularly in very humid conditions.  The Aeolian Co. used fish
glue when covering many of it's small pneumatics in players.  It was also used
for this in Duo-Art reproducers.  It has an oddly sweet smell for a fish
product! ;-)
