Hi James,

I currently have a Steinway D in the shop. That doesn't happen too often! I
ran out and pulled a pin in the middle and measured .315". Corresponds to
Schaff's "B" height bushings, or American's 5/16". Doesn't sound real
"considerably thinner than pianos designed for plate bushings" does it? When
I pull the plate, I'll check other areas if you're interested. Now, if
everyone else out there will do the same with what they happen to have torn
down, we can compare notes.
