Hi People, I have found over the years very few occasions when clients would offer tips. Normally I refuse them and thank them profusely. When they are very insistent I get embarrassed and take it. The last time, over Christmas I told the lady that I would put it in the Salvation Army kettle. That worked out well for all. Sometimes I unfold my checks when I get home and notice that the check was written for a few dollars more than my charge. I call them up and thank them. That is one of my bad habits, not looking at the check after it is handed to me. There are times when it is not unsigned or something. That means another trip back or something. I have noticed that the people who could afford it least are the most likely ones to try to give you extra $. On prices: I try to charge the same amount to everyone in the same geographical area. It gets hard trying to determine who pays what when you don't have your records with you. In the past couple of weeks I have purchased Claris Organizer for my little mac laptop that has my RCT on it. I am endeavoring to enter all my clients and pertinent info on them as well as tuning dates, amount charged, etc. It also has the scheduling mode so I have an appointment book with me on the computer. So far it seems to be working fine. Nothing worse than being out in the world without your client list and info with you..
