Hi list,

You can make a neat block support with two old upright backposts. They are
often tapered, and using two 18" lengths as opposing inclined planes, you can
support large sections at a time. A tap with a mallet is all you need to set
and release the wedges. (no more cranking up and down on the adjustment
screws.)

It is a good idea to sand the surfaces so they will be rough, and stay where
you set them.

It's another use for a dead upright!
