Last tuesday I spent about an extra half hour explaining a bit about the physics of tuning to the research scientist/owners of a S&S 1098 that I've been tuning for 10 years. I also left Askenfeldt's Five Lectures book with them, as well as the bill for my normal tuning, which was paid on the spot. When they returned the book on Saturday morning there was a thankyou note with it with a crisp new $20 bill inside. It was totally unexpected!
