1st piano made in America?

I thought that the first pianos in American were made back in the 18th
century. The Pierce atlas (8th edition) has a photo on page 49 from the
Smithsonian, saying "This is probably the first upright piano made in
American by John Isaac Hawkins, Philadelphia 1801." 

Check "Sellers, John, Philadelphia, Pa. 1791" in the atlas. Very small
square with a knee pedal.

I imagine there were some before that. Experts?
