A later 19th century modified well temperament would be ideal.
Mathematical ET was not being tuned in Russia until well after WWI.
Victorian tuning methods, quasi-equal, but actually a modified well
temperament,  would be highly appropriate for that program, and easier for
the trio to play in tune with than ET.
