Jim,

If I understand you very well, you place Seiler grands in the same category
as Bösendorfer. I hardly can believe that. Those Seilers should have
amaliorated very, very much but as far as I know them, they are very far
away from the (sound- and play)quality of a Bösendorfer grand. Here in
Belgium (and I thinbk in a great part of Europe) BÖsendorfer equals Steinway
(it depends most of the time which sound you prefer), then you have
Bechstein, Ibach, and then some other brands like Pleyel, Schimmel, yamaha,
Kawai, ...Seiler is placed still (far) behind those names.
What are your criteria's for those instruments?
Greetings,
Peter

>Hi Avery,
>I've been tuning Seilers for about 10 years. I feel they are in the
>Bosendorfer class but with a little gutsier sound. They are beautiful
>also. They go all out on veneer selection etc... They use a

>PI> I need some information about Seiler grands. I just got off the phone
>PI>with a lady who's been looking for a piano for her 16 yr. old son and so
>PI>far, in their price range, he has liked the Seiler more than anything
>PI>else he's played.
>PI> I can't remember even tuning one, so I know absolutely nothing about
>PI>them. Can anyone help me out here so I can maybe help the customer? I
would
>PI>particularly like to know about how they stand up to fairly heavy use.
She
>PI>said her son practices 3-4 hrs. a day.
>PI> Thanks.
