The force and direction of the impact using a becket breaker is obvious, and will delaminate the pinblock just like tapping the pins unsupported. If you are scrapping the pinblock, the force of blows will be absorbed by a support jack, and not just the plate, but you would probably not have to move it as often or as carefully. Just envision yourself merrily whacking things, making real and fast progress, and then noticing a crack in the web of the plate that you had not seen when you started. Bill Simon Phoenix
