Kimball console w/a dead bass

Piano could have been in water, could be dirty bass wrappings, could be a
Kimball. (just kidding)  I am assuming you tried getting a feeler gauge
between the wood.  Does the hammer felt look OK?  Try switching hammers
from an area that sounds good.  Try twisting one of the bass strings and
see what you get.
