I, too, have a Wurlitzer grand with the split pins. It's a 6-footer from
the '20s, and the pins are tight. Wurlitzer also put this system in
uprights. One complaint I heard was that the plate pulled forward some
on a Wurlitzer player. Perhaps it lacked the firm attachment to the back
a pinblock gives. The company mostly used the standard block, of course.
