Avery & Jim Bryant (Fl) I have a Wurlitzer Service Manual, part no. MP-958, which I received at a seminar probably some 15 years ago. On page 3 for Shrinking Action Centers they say: ` "The shrinking solution consists of eight parts of naptha and one part of light mineral oil. Drop a few drops of the solution at each center so it will soak into the bushing cloth. Use caution when applying. The response to the shrink solution should be immediately apparent." My personal margin note indicated the class instructor suggested using V.M. & P. brand naptha available at Sherwin Williams Paint stores. I've used this mixture on a number of vertical pianos in the past and find the action centers are eased almost immediately. I can't speak to the possiblity of some future verdigris problems. However, it has not become a problem on those pianos I serviced some 10 or 12 years ago. dcp@sosinc.net Don Price RPT 816 Vickie Ft.
