Dear list, Tuners Supply use to sell some Hide Glue in gelly form that could melt only by putting the jar into hot water. I found this product very useful when I had to use hide glue for a simple repair. It may not be as strong as the traditional one but the fact it gelled in a minute made it more handy to use than the liquid hide glue. And now I have the receipe: when you have a small batch of regular hide glue ready, pour about 1/3 of liquid Hide Glue. My sample has been on the shelf for three weeks now without getting moldy. And it only takes a couple of minutes to melt in hot tap water. I don't remember who gave the trick about two years ago on this list but, thanks a lot for the tip! Michel Lachance, RPT
