In a message dated 98-03-14 08:28:08 EST, you write:

<< After getting over the strange, new feeling of hearing all those fluttering
beats, I started hearing the melodies in a new way. He was playing selections
from Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier. >>

This is the way the music was originally conceived. ET alters the tonalities.
Insisting upon ET as the "norm" imposes a sound that never was intended nor
even heard of before the modern era. How can this be thought of as
"universally accepted" or "common law" practice when it is forced upon the
music and the public without explanation nor consent?

The HT's represent a new and fresh approach to piano tuning that you can SELL!
It is ironic that they do for it is a case of the cliché saying, "Everything
old is new again".
